Review: Monsterquest 7-8-09

Really well-done episode!!! Some notes:

Jim Hebert-1994, Grand Teton Park witness

Jeff Meldrum-Footprint Examination

Bill Munns-examination of the P/G Film.

Dr. David Begun-Paleoanthropologist

James "Bobo" Fay-BFRO member

2,500 sightings since 1969

Freeman footage examined, as is the Cripplefoot casts from Bossburg Washington

Bill Munns' work is highlighted on the P/G Film

The team of Munns, Bobo and others will attempt to measure the site of the P/G Film, led by Doug Devine

The team will attempt to fly over the film site, but the weather is not cooperating

David Murphy is also profiled, the man who is writing a biography on Roger Patterson

A recreation of Roger Patterson taking and passing a polygraph test is shown, which was written about in National Wildlife Magazine

Professor Jeff Sedlik is a forensic examiner who is also attempting to analyze the P/G Film

Mapping technology is being used to determine a chart of eyewitness accounts since October 20, 1967, by Frank Orr, a GIS specialist

The mapping is done based on average rainfall and its correlation

Casts are examined by Dr. Meldrum on the program in his usual attention to detail

The Freeman footage is examined next, and given an endorsement by Meldrum

Sedlik attempts to clean up the image to examine it properly

The helicopter team attempts to land near the P/g Filmsite, but it seems impossible due to excessive snow

They land close to the film site and attempt to hike into the site, but that is abandoned

Munns decides to instead do a photogrammetry examination of the site via photos

Based on the work he did with photogrammetry, he determines the height of the creature, along with the fact that Patterson used a 15-MM lens on his camera

Munns then builds 5 different heads to determine the actual head shape of "Patty"

He conducts experiments with the five heads and comes to a startling conclusion

Two witnesses from Wenatchee, Washington saw a Sasquatch there in 1976

The two fired shots over the creature's head, and frightened it off

Meldrum is seen examining tracks which show a mid-tarsal break

Meldrum believes this finding may the most significant since the Bossburg Cripple

He consults an orthopedic surgeon, David Howe, on his opinion on the Cripplefoot casts

Dr. Begun is skeptical, especially of the P/G Film

Munns is of the opinion that the film is real, using an overlay

An experiment is conducted with the five shaped heads to see if motion blur could account for the different shapes of the head shown in the film

it is shot on the same type of camera Patterson used and also on a High-Definition video camera

Dr. Howe believes the Cripplefoot cast shows a fracture, which indicates it is real and not hoaxed

Dr. Sedlik is on the fence on the P/G Film

Munns cannot get a human to fit into the proportions on "Patty"

His conclusion is that it is real

The various experts interviewed were split, but open-minded

The term Cryptozoology was coined in 1959 by Lucien Blancou in a book dedicated to the foremost researcher of unknown animals, Bernard Heuvelmans. As the term has now become a standard part of modern vocabulary and appears in almost all dictionaries, it is defined as "the science of hidden animals". It combines the three Greek words: kryptos, zoon and logos, which mean, respectively, hidden, animal, and discourse. In 1955, Heuvelman published On the Track of Unknown Animals and the new discipline was born. By 1982, the International Society of Cryptozoology was founded at a meeting held at the Smithsonian Institution. According to this meeting, Cryptozoology concerns "the possible existence of known animals in areas where they were not supposed to occur, either now or in the past), as well as the unknown persistence of presumed extinct animals to the present time or recent past...What makes an animal of interest to cryptozoology...is that it is unexpected". To be an animal of interest, it also must have at least one trait "truly singular, unexpected, paradoxical, striking, emotionally upsetting and thus be capable of mystification" according to Bernard Heuvelman.

The most famous creatures of Cryptozoology are the spectacular and disputed Loch Ness Monster, Sasquatch and Colossal Squid. And while these legendary creatures have made the study of cryptids (as cryptozoologists call them) well known throughout the world, it is only a fraction of the hidden, un-catalogued, or out-of-place animals that have advanced this discipline. In 1812, Baron Georges Cuvier, the revered French biologist considered the father of Paleontology, declared the end of the age of zoological discovery. "There is," he said, "little hope of discovering new species [of large animals]. I hope nobody will ever seriously look for [Sea Serpents] in nature; one could as well search for the animals of Daniel or for the beast of the Apocolypse." A short seven years later, in 1819, the American tapir was found, the first of thousands of "new" animals to be uncovered in the last few centuries. Some other animals include the Giant Squid (1870s), Okapi (1901), the Komodo dragon (1912), the koupey (1937), and the coelacanth (1938). At one time even the Giant Panda was considered elusive and unknown, living in the valleys of the Himalayas, since it took 65 years between its "discovery" and the capture of a live one.

Cryptozoology represents the original way animals were studied and discovered. Researchers would go to new places and listen to local legends and reports. They would be led to amazing animals that they would document or capture to show off back in Europe at zoos or schools, where they would formally classify them. But more often than not, Cryptozoologists and their discipline is dismissed by other recognized fields like paleontologists, anthropologists and zoologists as a pseudo-science due to some of the extraordinary claims. For many, "the search for unknown animals was at best a tainted enterprise, at worst an exercise in folly."

Hoaxes also figure into the perception of Cryptozoology. From false news reports in the late-19th century to the Patterson Film today, Cryptozoologists fight an uphill battle to get their questions answered and creatures found.

Review: Monsterquest 4-29-09

On Monsterquest, the main focus was what is known as "water apes", Sasquatch on Vancouver Island, which examines the possibility of these creatures swimming from Vancouver Island to the mainland of British Columbia. Several well-known Sasquatch personalities are featured on this episode, such as Dr. John Bindernagel, who lives on the island who gives his assessments of the sightings and the history. Thomas Steenburg and Richard Noll team up to search for evidence on the island. A wildlife biologist talks about his skeptical bent on whether or not such creatures could survive on the island; he also shows a rather interesting video of bears swimming in the Pacific from the island to the mainland, as well as showing apes swimming such as orangutans and monkeys, which somewhat negates the old myth that apes can't swim. Bindernagel is joined by a forensic podiatrist from the U.S. who examines his track casts and is rather open-minded about the possibility of them being from an unknown primate. Noll and Steenburg use different methods to attract some Sasquatch to in front of cameras, such as using fresh clams which the Sasquatch is known to eat. There is also a sighting recounted from 1901 in which a man was going to shoot a Sasquatch which was drinking from a stream because he thought it to be a bear, but when it stood upright, he changed his mind. Several encounters are recounted and witnesses interviewed, more methods of attracting Sasquatch are employed and the results are...well, I won't spoil it for you. A really good episode, I would give it a 4 1/2 out of 5 stars. Next week is a sequel to a Season 1 episode, titled Gigantic Killer Fish II, beginning at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central on History. This was a really good episode, one of the best ones in a while, about the Indian Monkey Man, also known as the Mande Barung, a large, black, hairy manlike creature seen in the Garo Hills in Northeastern India. The beginning saw some alleged encounters within the city of Delhi of people allegedly being attacked on their rooftops and three people dying and that being blamed on the Monkey Man, which turned out to be just mass hysteria and someone dressing in a suit within the city. The more plausible creature in the Garo Hills area, the Mande Berung, is investigated by a team led by primatologist Esteban Sarmiento and local investigator Dipu Marak, who search the jungle, and also set out game cams, one still camera, one video camera. Plus, strange hairs are found, as well as a drop of blood. The hair actually turned out to be from the red panda, which is not indigineous to that area, and the blood turned out to be from a human. There is an older account of the capture of two large hairy creatures sometime from I believe the 19th Century, and also some other accounts of sightings in the Garo Hills. The still camera does not pick up anything other than something triggered it which seems to stay out of range of the camera, but the video picks up something's hind quarters off to the left of the screen which is unidentified and could possibly be a more mundane animal. If I were to rate this episode, it would be a 4 1/2 out of 5 stars, due to the objective way it was examined. Well-done, Monsterquest.

Lake Demons, airing April 15th at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central

A fifty-foot monster is said to lurk beneath the cold, isolated waters of North America. The stories from Lake Okanagan date back to the earliest First Nation peoples, who lived in fear of this terrifying creature in the lake that became known as "Ogopogo." According to eyewitness accounts, this ominous creature has a large snake-like body, large eyes and can move at high speeds. Sightings of this lake creature are so common that it has been seen more times than Scotland's Loch Ness Monster, making Ogopogo the world's most documented lake creature. With new, photographic evidence and an array of high-tech technology, MonsterQuest launches expeditions to this lake.

Sea Monsters, airing April 22nd, 9:00 EST/8:00 Central

Mariners have long told stories of frightening beasts that stalk the coast of Florida, but new video could prove that old sailors were seeing real sea monsters. A forked tail, ferocious teeth and a large body were all characteristics of the historic sea monsters. Now, one Florida man says that not only has he witnessed these creatures on countless occasions, but he also has hours of video proof. Experts are divided over the controversial evidence that shows tantalizing glimpses of these strange sea creatures. One marine biologist claims it is a disfigured known species, another expert says it is a seal thought long extinct, and still others maintain that it is something altogether unheard of. Whatever monster lurks here, close to innocent vacationers, MonsterQuest will investigate.

Ape Island, airing April 29 at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central

In the Pacific Northwest, a small island may hold the clue to unravelling the mystery of the legendary Sasquatch. Vancouver Island is a densely forested land mass located about 70 miles northwest of Seattle, Washington. The island is separated from Canada's mainland by water and is a popular destination for hikers, hunters and possibly something frightening and mysterious. Natives told tales to their children of an ape-like beast to be feared that would steal them should they venture into the forest. More than just stories of a bogeyman, recent witnesses tell equally terrifying stories of a monster that attacks as they sleep and is seen devouring fish on the coastline. Now our expedition team follows up these reports, launches their own hunt and finds that recent scientific discoveries of swimming apes could lead them to their most astounding discovery yet.

No new MQ's for the next few weeks...

But the Predator X episode will be rebroadcast next Wednesday night at 8:00 EST/7:00 Central.

Review: Monsterquest 3-25-09

This pretty good episode focuses on Sasquatch or Bigfoot, and people are reporting encounters, close ones, with unknown creatures. The earliest known report is from 1883 from Ontario, Canada where an 8-foot high creature attacked two men. Loren Coleman is profiled and discusses an aggressive Sasquatch or Bigfoot. The Albert Ostman story is once again recounted by Coleman (it was recounted originally on the First-Season Sasquatch Attack episode). The next state is Minnesota, where a young lady claims to have hit something, a possible Sasquatch. She said it was 7 feet tall, looked like a cross between a bear and a man, and her boyfriend and a friend also witnessed the wreck and were convinced it was not a bear. They chased the animal into the woods with rifles. A bear research biologist believes the wreck is of a bear, but the witnesses are not so sure. The MQ crew is of course sent to investigate it. A Bob Olson, a Bigfoot researcher/investigator, examine the van that hit the whatever it was. They find what appears to be hair which will be sent for testing. Olson, Bob Sherman and a tracker go to see if they can find perhaps the corpse of the creature that was hit. Terry Reams' sighting is profiled next, from Washington State. His sighting is, to this author, quite compelling. It turns out that Reams and his family were not the only ones to see it-12 others, including four police officers, have also seen it. The team in Minnesota is still searching for the possible corpse of the alleged creature. The researchers cut off a section of tree with a bullet lodged in it to see about gathering clues from it. The team has a dog with them to search. Unfortunately, the trail runs cold, and no corpse is found. Meanwhile, the science team is starting its tests on the tree limbs. A Jay Epping, veterenarian, examines the tree limbs. He does detect a bullet inside the limb. The log will be sent to a DNA lab. Dr. Bruce McCord of Florida International University is commissioned to do the forensic study on the bullet and the tree. The bullet is extracted, now the DNA results will be tallied. From Michigan, in 1965, a young lady was attacked by a Sasquatch which blackened her eye. In Bishopville, South Carolina, a year ago, a van was chewed up by something, and the van was covered in blood. This case was speculated to have been done by Lizard Man, and Lisdon Truesdale, the retired sheriff of Lee County, is also interviewed on his impressions. Loren Coleman thinks the Lizard Man is actually a Sasquatch (side note: author D.L. Tanner believes it is a Skunk Ape). The results of that DNA testing turned out to be from a dog. An auto engineer and a wildlife biologist are going to test the van again to see if they can get perhaps a different result. They are constructing a reconstruction of a jaw just to see how it matches up with the bite marks on the van. Witness David Griffin of Indiana had a sighting in 1972 which he has never forgotten. He says this thing was headed towards him, but did not attack him. He kept that story quiet for many years. Another young man in Indiana, Aaron Wheeler, says he also was attacked by something he could not explain. Both of these witnesses are subjected to a polygraph test to determine their truthfulness (or lack thereof). More testing is done, more witnesses interviewed, and the results are...well, I won't reveal too much more. Next week focuses on Ogopogo, in an episode titled Lake Demon, beginning at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central on History. Check local listings for time and channel. However, this Sunday, there is a special of interest called Predator X, about a giant dinosaur said to make the Tyrranosaurus Rex look like a guppy. That begins at 8:00 EST/7:00 Central on History. again check local listings for time and channel.

Monsterquest Tomorrow...

The most compelling evidence for the creature known as Bigfoot may be the increasing close encounters that are frightening witnesses in rural America. Historic stories have told of violent interactions that range from objects being thrown to frightening abductions by hairy beasts. As extraordinary as these stories sound, people continue to recount physical interactions with creatures that they cannot explain. Witnesses from Minnesota and Washington State have all had frightening run-ins with the monsters while driving; another witness in rural Indiana talks with terror of the night that he was grabbed by something very powerful out in a forest. MonsterQuest will investigate whether witness are seeing known animal or the same Bigfoot creature that has been spoken of throughout history. MonsterQuest employs polygraph examinations, DNA analysis and bite force tests to discover what monster is turning up its aggression.

Monsterquest: China's WIldman

Review: Monsterquest 3-18-09

This was kind of a boring episode despite the premise of it, being that it was searching for a giant, perhaps 60-70-foot long Great White Shark, with much the same folks who also searched for the Giant Squid on two previous episodes from Seasons 1 and 2, and there were eyewitness accounts given regarding seeing what is called a "Black Demon" in the sea off the Baja Peninsula in Mexico, a large shark which may live in the Mariana Trench. There was some efforts made to attempt to see it and perhaps film it, but nothing successful. They even searched from the air and got no results. Still, I would give it about a 3 out of 5 stars. Not necessarily one of the better MQ episodes, but not the worst either. Next week, Hairy Hominids come into play once again, with an episode examining Bigfoot encounters in Indiana, Washington State and Minnesota, titled Monster Close Encounters, beginning at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central on History. Next Week's Monsterquest...

MonsterQuest : Mega Jaws Airs on Wednesday March 18 09:00 PM EST/8:00 Central

Sharks have terrified people for centuries and deep within the forbidding waters of Mexico's Baja Peninsula may lurk a mammoth sixty foot monster. Could it be a new giant species or some living relic, hidden in the sea? In prehistoric times, huge carnivorous sharks, more than twice the size of a great white, ruled the waves. Marine experts claim these giants went extinct, but evidence may challenge that. Meanwhile, frightened Mexican fisherman talk of being stalked by a "Black Demon"; and sailors report close collisions with a shark unlike anything that they have encountered before. In a search for answers, MonsterQuest uses a combined air and sea search for this monster shark that may be prowling the last unexplored frontier of our planet.

Review: Monsterquest 3-11-09

On this episode, the areas around Pikes' Peak, Colorado are being searched for a predator which kills elk. Several witnesses are interviewed as to their sightings and footprint finds. The creature is said to have a bellowing cry. Kathy Lell, a historian, has been researching stories of a manlike beast for over 35 years, and a story from 1881 is recreated of a sighting of a Bigfoot-type creature. Two miners were involved, but only one of them actually saw it, and it is described as a cross between human and gorilla. A biologist named Bill Heicher is skeptical, and thinks that the lack of physical evidence is proof to him that there is nothing to the sightings. A fellow named Keith Foster is profiled, and has been researching it for over 15 years. He has catalogued over 100 sightings. A series of photos of tracks from 10,000-11,000 feet is shown which seem to be tracks of the Snowbeast. An expedition is mounted up to find the beast, being done by helicopter. Paul Drexler is using the latest in thermal technology to attempt to photograph a Snowbeast from the air. The camera he has is heat recognizing. The chopper they use is especially designed for this type of terrain in the high mountain peaks. Some nasty weather seems to be moving in, so the chopper crew must hurry. The temperature is getting noticeably colder as they fly. They believe they may have something before the first commercial break. Witness Jeff Dysinger, a professional guide, had a face to face sighting in 1999 with a hairy hominid. Foster believes it is not a coincidence that Dysinger's sighting was near elk; he believes that they prey on elk as a predator. He believes they migrate with the elk populations. A G.I.S. expert works with Foster on the migration patterns, a Chris Markuson. Bill Given, a WIldlife Biologist, says it is even difficult to track known animals successfully, much less unknown animals. Their findings so far is that the creatures frequent the higher elevations, the mountainous wilderness regions. These sightings occur between October and April, which would seem to rule out bears since that is their hibernation season. The winter sightings range from 7,300-9,000 feet, while during the summer, they are 1,000 feet higher. A team on horseback sets out to search valleys as well. A military-trained tracker with over 30 years experience is leading the ground team. Signs of activity which are old are found by the ground team, evidence mainly of elk. They find a cave which seems to be occupied by a predator, most likely a cougar given how narrow the cave is. The cave is actually an old mine, which the ground team is a bit hesitant to investigate the mine due to not knowing what might be in there and also fear of cave-ins. They do, however, put a camera close to the mine entrance to see what, if anything, is coming in or out of the cave. Getting back to the air search, a line of tracks is filmed from the air, but it is hard to tell from the air what the tracks are made by. The track-maker is revealed to be a coyote. The air team lands, but is encouraged that the area is ideal. Bill Brice, an area fisherman, took photographs at the Eagle River of tracks in 2000. Heicher is intrigued by the photos, and does not think they are bear, human or hoax. An Eagle County deputy is also intrigued by the photos, and his resources believe the track-maker to weigh between 400-700 pounds. Ecologist Jim Halfpenny of the Track Education Center is called upon to use his expertise to attempt to explain the photos. He is also intrigued by the photos, and believes they are one of two things-a hoax or true-bill. Heicher is conducting an interesting experiment to indicate whether or not the footprints photographed are real or fake. They are also conducting an experiment to see if changes in weather patterns could possibly affect more mundane tracks and form them into large humanlike tracks. Another witness who has had two encounters, Dan Trujillo, is interviewed and says he heard rocks clacking high up in the Rockies, and heard some sort of yell. Dan and his father saw a large hairy biped walk away from them, frightening their dog. More exploration is done, experiments are conducted, and the results are...well, I won't give too much away. I have to say, this was a rather intriguing episode. I would give it a 4 out of 5 stars.

MonsterQuest will investigate whether witness are seeing known animal or the same Bigfoot creature that has been spoken of throughout history. MonsterQuest employs polygraph examinations, DNA analysis and bite force tests to discover what monster is turning up its aggression.

LAKE DEMON: Beneath the cold, isolated waters of north western Canada a fifty foot swimming monster is said to lurk. The stories from North West Canada’s Lake Okanagan date back to the earliest First Nation peoples, who lived in fear of this terrifying creature of the lake that became known as ‘Ogopogo’. According to accounts of this ominous creature, it has a large snake like body, large eyes and can move at high speeds. Sightings of this lake creature are so common that it has been seen more times than Scotland’s Loch Ness Monster, making Ogopogo the world’s most documented lake creature. With new, recent photographic evidence and an array of high technology, MonsterQuest will launch one of the first major expeditions to this lake. A helicopter outfitted with a thermal camera will scan the lake for signs of the creature while a dive team stands ready to jump into the hazardous waters, ready to capture the necessary evidence.

SEA MONSTERS: Mariners have long told stories of frightening beasts that stalk the coasts of Florida, but what if new video could prove that old sailors were seeing real sea monsters? A forked tail, ferocious teeth and a large body were all characteristics of the historic sea monsters, seen by schooners packed with scared passengers. Now, one Florida man says that not only has he witnessed these creatures on countless occasions, but he also has hours of video proof. Experts are divided over the controversial evidence that shows tantalising glimpses of these strange sea creatures. One marine biologist claims it is a disfigured known species, another expert says it is a seal thought long extinct, and still others maintain that it is something altogether unheard of. Whatever monster lurks here, close to innocent vacationers, MonsterQuest will investigate. Using state of the art sonar technology, a dive team will penetrate the murky waters while marine experts and forensic artists attempt to identify this sea monster caught on tape.

Monsterquest next week...

MonsterQuest: Snowbeast Slaughter

High in the rugged wilderness of Colorado's Rocky Mountains a large hairy creature is said to be preying on the elk and frightening residents. The stories date back centuries with the earliest settlers describing terrifying encounters with a large beast whose scream bellows across the hills. Even today ranchers and hikers report a monster they can't explain that may be attacking their horses. MonsterQuest will sift through the evidence and determine what may be killing the elk. The aerial search ascends to 11,000 ft in search of fresh evidence that could lead to the creature; as the ground team scales the side of Pikes Peak to hunt for the legendary Snowbeast.

No Review For the 3-4-09 Monsterquest...

Alligators in the sewers don't really appeal to me all that much, because to me, that is not a cryptid. But, look at the next post for the description of next week's episode...

Next Week's Monsterquest...

GATORS IN THE SEWERS

What if one of the most famous and terrifying urban legends was not a legend but a frightening fact? History tells us that the idea of alligators lurking around in the sewers of New York City is based in truth. In the mid 1930s three teenagers pulled an eight-foot alligator from a storm drain. Reports persisted until a skeptical superintendant of sewers, Teddy May, was forced to investigate for himself. What May found shocked even him--swarms of alligators alive beneath the busy main street of Americas biggest city. Crews were sent in to kill the deadly reptiles, but the stories of the gators in the sewers lived on. Experts, however, are divided over whether it is scientifically possible for alligators to continue to exist in the sewers, so a MonsterQuest team sets out to search for modern evidence of these monsters. Herpetologists and underground explorers join forces and use the latest in remote-operated camera technology to delve into the depths of New York's sewers.

Review: Monsterquest 2-25-09

This was a rather interesting episode about the Jersey Devil, with a group of 60 people in the forests of the Pine Barrens searching for the elusive winged beast born as the 13th child to a lady named Leeds who declared that her 13th child be named a devil. Several witnesses are interviewed as well, and an avian expert is interviewed and thinks there is a possibility that the Jersey Devil might be actually a large owl, but is open-minded to the possibility of it being something unknown. There are 35 men in a line on the ground, as well as 25 spotters in trees. There are also mysterious footprints found which appear to be animal-like, but they are on snow-covered rooftops, which are a bit strange. The Montauk Monster, which washed up at Montauk beach, New York, but is found to be a taxidermist's hoax. More evidence is found, more investigation is done, and the results are...well, I will not reveal too much more. Next week examines Gators in the Sewers, 9:00 EST/8:00 Central on History. Review: Monsterquest 2-18-09

[boggy_creek.jpg]

This was a really good episode, the first Hairy Hominids episode of the season on Swamp Stalker, the Fouke Monster. Members of the Texas Bigfoot Research Conservancy are in the swamps close to Fouke, in the Sulphur River Bottoms searching for proof of the beast. Several eyewitness accounts are recounted as well, as well as recounting about the movie The Legend of Boggy Creek. Loren Coleman is interviewed about the Fouke Monster as well. Rick Noll is also involved with the expedition, and helps out with it. Not only is the search taking place in the Boggy Creek area, but also in the Ouachita Mountains in southeastern Oklahoma. Some gamecams are also set up, and Dr. Jeff Meldrum is seen examining the Fouke Monster cast. He thinks it could be possibly a bear track, but is cautiously optimistic. There is also a scat sample found which seems to be rather large, but is found to be from a feral hog. There are also sightings recounted from other areas of Arkansas. One thing some expedition members are doing is taking a kayak into the swamps and rowing along the shorelines, with infrared flashlights on their heads, and broadcasting sounds into the dark swamps. The same thing is occurring in the Ouachita Mountains, with TBRC members Alton Higgins and Daryl Colyer. Daryl also recounts his own experience seeing a Hairy Hominid. The evidence is gathered, trailcams are examined, and what is revealed is...well, I won't give too much away, Next week focuses on the Jersey Devil, beginning at 9:00 EST/8:00 Central on History. Monsterquest Tonight...

CATTLE KILLERS

Something mysterious and violent is killing cattle of the North American plains, but what is behind these gruesome attacks -- satanic cults, an unknown predator, or something previously unknown to man? For 40 years, there have been thousands of cases of cattle found mutilated under abnormal circumstances; these livestock are found dead, often with their blood drained and organs or body parts removed from their bodies. Abnormally high radiation levels have been detected in the soil near the dead animals when they are found, and the deaths often do not match the pattern of known predators. With no apparent footprints or tracks leading to or from the carcases and strange circles near the site, the mystery only deepens. A MonsterQuest team will gather samples and head to a laboratory to scientifically analyze the most compelling evidence.
